When we first moved into our home and landscaped our garden, we included two fountains, one on the front porch and one outside our back window. Our development uses recycled water for landscaping, so there was no safe way to fill these fountains through the recycled water system and we needed to use the potable water from the hose instead.
To set-up our faucet timers, we started by downloading the Tuya app that guided us through the entire process.
The Bluetooth to Wi-Fi gateway needs to be installed inside first. After the gateway was up and running, it was pretty straightforward to install the two hose timers and connect to them to be able to turn on and off the water. Rather than install the faucet timers outside, we set up everything inside the house first.
Now that our gateway and timer are installed it is simple to fill our fountains through the app. Open the app, pick the faucet you want to control, and adjust the timer and press the start button. We usually use them manually when we notice our fountains are low, though the App does offer a scheduling feature and connection to the Internet for weather. This would be nice for watering the plants
The QOTO hose faucet timers have a heavy-duty, weatherproof case, solar powered and run on two AA batteries. We have had mixed results with the battery life, in general our batteries last about 12 months
After the remaining battery gets under 20% or so, the faucet gets a little flakey and loses its connection until we install new ones. Sometimes the battery life indicator is also off - even though it says battery life of zero we can still run the faucet. To get the battery indicator to reset we sometimes need to re-connect via Bluetooth to the individual timer.

Quick Start Guide
1) Power the Wi-Fi Gateway & Timer
a. Plug the Wi-Fi Gateway into an indoor outlet.
b. Insert 2 AA Batteries into the timer.
(The battery tray is under the timer. Batteries are not included)
2) Initial Tuya or smartlife App Setup
Download the Tuya or Smartlife App, then create an account and login.
3) Pair the Wi-Fi Gateway
a. Click the button "Add Device" or "+" on the home page of the app.
b. Choose "Add Manually" and "Power strip", and then click "power strip(BLE+WiFi)".
c. Follow the app setup wizard. Press and hold the button on the Wi-Fi Gateway around 5 seconds until a blue LED light rapidly flashing.
d. Enter Wi-Fi Password and connect with Wi-Fi. (Only 2.4G Wi-Fi are supported).
Note: If your router is a dual-band router, please independently enable the 2.4GHz WiFi band and name it differently from the 5GHz WiFi band.
4) Pair the Wi-Fi Hose end water timer
a. After successfully pairing with Wi-Fi Gateway and connecting to Wi-Fi, click the button "Manager added devices" on the app to add your timer.
b. Follow the app setup wizard. Press and hold the button on your timer around 5 seconds until the blue LED light rapidly flashing.
c. Once the timer is paired successfully, the APP will show "Device added successfully" .
